  • A few weeks ago we did more spring crafts using the book “Baby Animals” by @makebelieveideas (and illustrated by Addison Reads’ very own illustrator @sarah_vince_illustrations !!!) as our inspiration! 🐰 🥕 I LOVE getting inspired by books to make crafts - head over to the blog to check out some of the ways we go beyond our books & get motivated (or join the #intentionalbookclub for specific activity ideas!) 🙌🏻
  • As you well know by now, we do #intentionalparenting in our household! That means everyday we wake up we do things with PURPOSE. ❤️ I love sharing all of my tips I have picked up along the way when it comes to being purposeful as a parent. Here’s a carefully curated box of toys & books for our 15 hour road trip last week. AJ did so well - she had all she needed & it was packed in a basket so we have been able to use it while we stay (and be good houseguests and clean up!). I would like to share a post soon with my top tips for packing intentionally for your kids (we have traveled so much AJ and I...cross country AND internationally). Do you have any struggles when it comes to continuing to parent with intention while you travel?! Drop them below ⬇️ While you wait for my tips, go listen to the Addison Reads Audio Blog podcast for other excellent intentional parenting motivation & encouragement. 💕
  • Do your kids ever make a piece of art that floors you for some reason? I see this & I see color, joy, light. My baby girl has 1,000,000 reasons to be sad with her daddy gone - yet in her innocent, joy filled heart she isn’t. She’s happy. She has her moments of grief, but most of the time she’s thriving. & I can too (by the way I wrote a post allll about this on the blog this week #soloparenting) ❤️ I am so impressed with her heart & what comes from her soul, like this beautiful chalk drawing. (Thank goodness for @artkiveapp or i wouldn’t have been able to capture and store this!) 🙌🏻
  • Today on the blog and audio blog I am pouring my heart & revealing truth and practical tips to you - that you can THRIVE during seasons of #soloparenting. As a military significant other / spouse for nearly 10 years we have been through EVERY kind of distance... It was hard when we didn’t have a child...and when AJ came into the world it was astronomically more difficult to be apart.
I used to sit on the floor & cry. I used to say “why me?”...a lot more than I’d like to admit. 😕

Over the years I have mastered techniques for thriving during solo parenting seasons...but I failed on technique 1...the most important one. Mindset. ACCEPTING that this is my current season & choosing to embrace it. That’s what I was missing and recently I’ve been learning to do just that (with great help from my spiritual mentor @entrice_rowe). 🙏🏻 If you are in or expecting a season of solo parenting, read the post or listen on the audio blog. You will be encouraged & uplifted ... knowing you CAN be happy. You’re allowed to enjoy solo parenting and you don’t have to just look to the next season, you can thrive in the one you’re in. 🙌🏻💕
